Biography

Swedish pop-punk band with a flair for infusing power chords with new wave and disco, Frankley Everlong surfaced in 2009 as a straight-up punk band. The band’s intention is to combine elements of different types of music and create something new.

“We´ve been working on our sound for several years, trying to mix different types of music together” says guitarist and vocalist Tommy Carlsson. “I love music… especially punk, disco, and heavy new wave synth. We take different elements of these genres, mix it up a bit, and create something new. It cannot be three different types of genres standing side by side however, the result has to sound only like one genre“.

Frankley Everlong released their debut album Songs for the Broken on October 31, 2014. Shortly thereafter, the band’s original bass player left the band, and was immediately replaced by Nicklas Petersson. Looking for a unique spot in the scene, Tommy Carlsson began merging new wave synths and disco beats into the mix, which lead up to the release in 2019 of their full-length album “Till the Dance Do Us Part” on American based Eclipse Records. “Our debut album was important to us, it pushed us in the right direction” says Tommy “but I wanted the sound to be even more defined."

In late 2016-2017, the band began tracking these new songs, and by 2018 they finished recording their latest album “Till the Dance Do Us Part”.in the Summer of that year landed one with American indie Eclipse Records (Mushroomhead, Bobaflex, A Breach of Silence). “Till the Dance Do Us Part was a big thing for us as a band” says Tommy. I think that “Till The Dance..” was a huge step when it comes to the sound that we are looking for." The album was well received by the critics with its playful balance between punk end electronics.

In 2019 Tommy started to write new material that will come to be the third album with an urge to fuse the new wave and punk even further. . The recording session then started summer of 2020 and was finished early 2021. “I was very strict to myself when writing this album” says Tommy. “I wanted every track to be a hit song and if one song had one part that I didn't feel like it was a part of a hit, then I trashed the entire song. The recording session was pretty different than how we used to record music. We parted ways with our drummer and Corona had struck. We felt that we couldn't wait for Corona to pass and just sit and wait to be able to try out drummers just to record the album, so we decided that I should play the drums on this album". After the album was recorded, a second guitarist Johan Offerlind was added to the band. When the time came to begin to plan the release of “Things of Evil” the band decided to go independent and “Things of Evil” is set to release in Spring 2022.
